Next Monthly 5KRun/2-Mile Walk - Friday, Jan 8th. Runners/Walkers will gather behind blue start line in front of CCAFS Fitness Center and will complete the loop following the asphalt trail to the 3.1 mile marker located next to the Fire Station.
As this is a Commander’s Cup even sign-ups will only be accepted on the day of the event. Watches and Single-bud earpieces are allowed (authorized per AF safety instruction).  Water coolers will be placed at the 1 mile marker, the 2 mile marker and at the 3.1 mile marker. Please defer to the 2010 Commanders Cup program guide for details on points.  To receive unit points, participants must register completely by filling in his/her name, rank, flight, unit, group, and phone number on the sign-up sheets provided at the Fitness Center the day of the event. Active Duty, Guard & Reserve, family members 18 years or older, DoD and NAF, and permanent-party contractors working on CCAFS are eligible.

PUSH-UP COMPETITION - Jan 15 at 7:30 am.  This is a team event.  Teams consist of four people and at least one person must be female.  The team with the highest number of push-ups performed wins.  Push-ups will be performed in the following ways:  traditional, on a BOSU ball, on a stability ball and with feet elevated.  Commander’s Cup Points will be awarded.  Registration is required.

“GET READY FOR SUMMER” CARDIO ATHLETE CHALLENGE 
 Monday, January 25th through Friday, March 5th This program is designed to increase awareness of the need for a consistent cardio vascular program in one’s overall fitness routine.  30-45 minutes of cardiovascular activity, 4-6 times per week will increase cardiovascular health, help maintain a healthy weight and facilitate combat readiness. Participants can utilize a variety of indoor cardio equipment and authorized outdoor jogging and bike trails.  People may participate individually or with a partner. Participants are responsible for keeping track of miles accomplished in a log provided by the fitness centers. 
Register at the front desk. A tracking binder is available at both fitness centers. This program is based upon the honor system – integrity applies.  Appropriate athletic attire per the Fitness Center’s policy is allowed. Incentive items will be given to each participant who attains the required distances in miles. Medals will be given to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place male and female individual winners, and team winners.
Active Duty, Guard & Reserve, family members 18 year or older, and DoD and NAF civilians are eligible.
